Is your 4th, 5th, or 6th grader interested in learning an instrument? We invite all interested students and their families to join the Jordan Ridge Elementary Band Program!
Join us for our "Back to Band" Information Night on Thursday, August 27, at 6:30 PM in the Jordan Ridge Elementary Gym. Families will have the opportunity to meet the band director, learn about the program, and get all the information needed for a successful start to the school year.

The Jordan Ridge Elementary Band Program offers students the opportunity to learn a woodwind, brass, or percussion instrument in a structured, engaging, and high-quality music program. Students build fundamental musical skills, develop confidence, and work as a team, all while experiencing the excitement of live performance.
Under the direction of Ms. Nelya Coomans, students are held to high standards and encouraged to grow both as individual musicians and as members of an ensemble. Our goal is to foster a lifelong appreciation and understanding of music.

Flute • Clarinet • Alto Saxophone • Trumpet • French Horn •Trombone • Tuba •Percussion
Rehearsal Schedule (2026 - 2027):
- Beginning Band: Mon/Wed | 8:00–8:45 AM
- Advanced Band: Tues/Fri | 8:00–8:45 AM
- Jazz Band: Thursday | 3:45–4:30 PM
Tuition:
$100 per semester ($200 for the full year)
Scholarships and financial assistance are available.
Program Highlights:
- Multiple performances throughout the school year in both a school and community setting
- Field Trip for Band Competition (in May)
- Opportunities for individual growth through practice, playing tests, and ensemble work
What Students Need:
- A rented or owned instrument (local rental options available)
- Accent on Achievement Method Book
- Daily practice at home (10–15 minutes recommended)
Getting Started:
Back to Band Parent Information Night is in August. Parents will receive information about band, along with our band handbook, a complete performance schedule, and information about renting instruments. Our Instrument Petting Zoo/Rental Night typically occurs soon after. This event is for students to come try out instruments and rent the one they like. Band rehearsals begin in September.
